Films: On/Off


When James's girlfriend invites her boss to have dinner at home, she asks James to behave and treat them as if they were the most important people in the world. When she goes to the local shop to buy dessert, the invitees arrive and James tries to behave as a perfect host. However, some household equipment starts to work weirdly and James tries to cover all that weirdness with unexpected consequences.

This short film was an experiment in David's career. It was his first work shot in the United Kingdom (2002), and the lack of contacts forced him to produce a film basically on his own with the only help of his partner Merce.

David basically wanted to experiment working with a reduced crew, an extra low budget, in a sole location, and with a crazy idea. The results were very interesting and the film was shown in different festivals in London and Spain .
